Honouring the Season You're In: A Mind-Body Approach to Wellness Through the Year
In a world that often pushes us to go, go, go, it’s easy to forget that we’re human *beings* not human *doings*. We are not machines, we are cyclical, seasonal beings. Just like nature moves through phases of growth, stillness, bloom and rest, so does our energy, mood and wellbeing shift throughout the year. When we really take time to honour the season we’re in (both externally and internally), we give ourselves the opportunity to feel more grounded, balanced, and supported.
As a somatic psychotherapist, I often speak to clients about tuning into their body’s natural rhythms. When we fight the natural flow like trying to push through fatigue or force energy when we’re depleted, it often leads to burnout. Yet, when we align with the season we’re in, and respond with compassion, acceptance and nourishment, everything begins to soften.
Here’s how you can begin to honour each season with a mind-body approach to wellness and how a few simple rituals (and the right support from natural supplements) can help.

Summer: Expansion, Vitality & Play
Summer often brings with it a surge of energy and outward focus. It’s a time for movement, socialising, creativity and light. But with this extra energy also comes the risk of overcommitting and burning out if we don’t stay grounded.
What the body often needs:
- Cooling, hydrating foods
- Movement that feels fun and energising (think walking, swimming, dancing)
- Time to rest in between all the doing
Mind-body focus:
Summer invites us into joy, fun and expression but don’t forget to check in with your body amidst the activity. Are you truly energised, or are you just running on adrenaline?
Nu Harvest Support:
- Gorgeous Greens is a perfect summer staple - so easy to add to a smoothie or icy drink for that hit of daily nutrients, natural energy and immune support during the warmer months.
- Electrolytes are also a beautiful addition, especially when you’re moving more or spending time outdoors. They help replenish what’s lost through sweat, supporting hydration, energy and balance from the inside out.
Autumn: Grounding, Letting Go & Slowing Down
As the days get cooler and the leaves begin to fall, autumn invites us to turn inward. It’s a time for reflection, grounding and releasing what we no longer need, just as nature does.
What the body often needs:
- Warming, nourishing meals
- More rest and slower-paced movement
- Emotional regulation and space to reflect
Mind-body focus:
Autumn is an ideal time to check in with what you’re holding onto emotionally.
Are there old patterns, stories or expectations that no longer serve you?
Nu Harvest Support:
- Moon Mylk is the perfect autumn ritual. With magnesium and calming adaptogens, it supports deep rest, nervous system regulation, and emotional balance, especially during seasonal transitions.
- As the pace begins to slow, Nu Harvest's Matcha Latte can offer a caffeine alternative, supporting mental clarity and nervous system calm, without the crash.
Winter: Rest, Restoration & Inner Connection
Winter is nature’s time of hibernation, and yet many of us try to maintain the same pace year-round. It’s normal to feel more tired, introverted or sensitive during winter. This season is all about slowing down, creating warmth and tending to your inner world.
What the body often needs:
- Deep rest and sleep
- Comforting routines
- More time away from screens, more time spent internally
Mind-body focus:
Instead of resisting winter’s slowness, what if you leaned into it? What if tiredness wasn’t something to fix, but a message to listen to?
Nu Harvest support:
- Moon Mylk is perfect for winter! It creates a cosy wind-down ritual in the evening to support deeper sleep, recovery and emotional regulation.
- Thrive Plant Protein is a nourishing and satisfying start to cold mornings, as it blends beautifully into warming porridge or even hot chocolates!

Spring: Renewal, Clarity & Fresh Intentions
Spring brings with it the energy of rebirth. Just as flowers begin to bloom, many of us feel a rising sense of motivation and inspiration. It’s a time to plant new seeds, both literally and metaphorically.
What the body often needs:
- Light, vibrant foods
- Movement to shake off the sluggishness of winter
- A fresh start or reset
Mind-body focus:
What feels ready to be birthed or expressed?
What have you been quietly growing through the winter that’s now ready to emerge?
Nu Harvest Support:
- Stim-Free Pre-Workout is great to support movement and a sense of renewed energy, especially if you’re easing back into a routine after winter
- Gorgeous Greens can help support digestion, skin health and vitality during this period of renewal.
Tune In to Your Inner Seasons
Seasons don’t just happen outside of us, they live within us too. You might be in a personal “winter” (a time of inward reflection) while the world is in spring. This is why tuning into your inner season is just as important as honouring the external one.
When you can meet yourself where you are physically, emotionally, energetically and support yourself accordingly, everything starts to feel more balanced & easeful!!
I’ve found Nu Harvest’s products to be a beautiful addition throughout the seasons, helping me feel more grounded, energised, or restored depending on what my body needs.
